Dear reader,

I would like to inform you about the progress of the Wij Helpen Daar foundation. A lot has happened since our last blog. Firstly, we had three information evenings to recruit participants for our projects, and we succeeded! We now have enough registrations for all projects to go ahead and we are very happy with that. In each project, 2 project leaders are also appointed, and the recruitment thereof is largely still in progress.

In March, we also organized a film evening in collaboration with the Leiden Development Cooperation Foundation (SOL), in which the film 'Warriors' was screened. This film was about UN soldiers who were confronted with atrocities during the ethnic war in Bosnia. The purpose of this evening was to raise awareness among students. We also participated in a more cheerful activity, namely the Easter drinks, organized by the Leiden Students Ekklesia. Here we got to know more people who can often be found in the Rapenburg 100 building, which resulted in very interesting conversations and a basic knowledge of sign language!

In addition, we are busy setting up an activities committee, with the aim of organizing more pleasant outings and meetings for the upcoming participants and / or interested parties. For example, an introductory drink is already planned, where everyone can get to know his or her project members. This will take place on April 26 from 20.00 pm, at Rapenburg 100. If you are also interested in coming, you are of course very welcome!
